We encourage students to be bold by taking positive steps beyond their comfort zones, whether that is engaging in learning, trying new activities or developing independence and self-belief. We nurture curiosity through engaging, meaningful learning that reflects students’ interests and encourages questioning, exploration and problem‑solving. Kindness underpins our school culture and is seen in the respectful relationships between staff and students, the consistent care we provide, and the strong sense of belonging felt across the school. We also believe that learning should be fun, helping students feel motivated, safe and confident to engage, celebrate successes and enjoy being at school.

Our values ensure that students and staff feel respected, supported and valued as individuals. They create an environment where young people can grow academically, socially and emotionally, developing the confidence, resilience and life skills they need to succeed.

We aim for students to leave Esland Doncaster School with academic qualifications alongside the social and personal skills that will support them throughout adulthood. These foundations enable students to progress into employment or further learning, live as independently as possible, and become positive, effective members of their local communities.
