About Us

At Esland Doncaster School, we create a caring and inspiring learning environment where children and young people feel safe, valued, and ready to learn. We support students to re‑engage with education, build confidence, and take an active role in their learning journey.

We offer high-quality specialist education for 7 to 18 year-olds with a range of needs, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).  Our experienced team understands that every child is different, and we work closely with families, carers, and professionals to ensure each student receives the right support at the right time.

We have our own unique identity, ethos, and approach to our curriculum, and we use the Turning the Curve™ education model to support students who, depending on their background and circumstances, may be at different stages in their education.

We understand that every child's journey into our school is unique. That’s why we place great importance on creating a warm, welcoming and inclusive culture where our students feel understood, supported and proud of their achievements. Our guiding mission is for every child to thrive in life.

Our aim is to prepare students not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, giving them the skills and confidence they need for adulthood. Through a focus on qualifications, independence, and positive relationships, we support young people to move forward into education, employment, or training, and to become confident, contributing members of their communities.
