Outcomes

Providing positive outcomes

When a student joins our school, we carry out a comprehensive baseline assessment to develop a clear understanding of their individual needs, strengths and starting points. This ensures a personalised and supportive learning experience from the outset.

Assessments include BKSB (Basic Key Skills Building) for English and maths, alongside reading, writing and comprehension checks. Psychometric assessments provide further insight into social, emotional and mental health, learning development, processing skills and emotional regulation. Where relevant, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and targets are reviewed.

As part of the transition process, we work closely with students and their parents or carers to identify any barriers to learning, such as SEND, SEMH needs, socio-economic disadvantage or care status, while building strong, trusting relationships with families.

All assessment information is collated to create a detailed profile of need, enabling us to address gaps in learning, recognise strengths and tailor support effectively. Using this information, we agree aspirational yet realistic outcomes with students and families with clear progression routes.

Our personalised curriculum offers a range of qualifications, including Unit Awards, Entry Level qualifications, Functional Skills, BTECS and GCSEs, supporting students to become confident, resilient and proactive young adults.
